Ok, I confess…I have a Pinterest problem. It’s not really a problem….more like a love affair. It’s not even a dirty little secret, like women across America diving headfirst into 50 Shades of Grey. It’s just out there. I love pinning things. I love seeing what others pin. I love using it as my cookbook and baby style guide and pinning inspirational pictures and quotes about how I’m going to get in shape someday because gosh darn it, I’m worth it.
Seriously, though, it’s a great place to bookmark ideas, especially visual, and as I’ve been pinning ideas for our baby girl and maternity photo inspiration, I’ve seen friends who are expecting doing the same. It’s always fun to see something out there that you never thought to do. I love new perspectives.
When my friend Gina asked me to shoot some pictures for her to use to announce her pregnancy to family and friends, I was psyched. Not only is she cute as can be, but this was a new kind of shoot for me. She was only about 12 weeks along, so no big pregnant belly yet. But the session had a lot of excitement of things to come, and celebrating their future family.
Why did I bring up Pinterest? Well, different perspectives aside, Gina is a bit nutty (which is why I love her) and she sent me no less than 75 links to pictures she pinned with ideas for shots. This lady is thorough! There was a lot of cuteness, but I also wanted to make sure she and Andrew had some shots together just enjoying this time in their lives. They haven’t really been photographed since their wedding day, so I made them get a little cozy and cuddly and I got some of my favorite images to date. They used the shoe picture to announce their exciting news, and I can’t wait to get together with them in the fall once she has a belly full of baby to get some more fun and beautiful pictures.
