Emily and Pat: Boston Engagement Photography
Happy new year! I love this time of year. It’s almost my anniversary, it’s a great season to get engaged (I know of at least 4 engagements in the past week on my Facebook feed alone – Call me! Just kidding… But really.), and it’s a great time to start fresh, revisit goals, come up with new goals, and tackle it all with a positive attitude. I think I am doing well in that department. My mantra for the year is “No Bad Days”. Every day is a blessing and opportunity to do something great. So I am going to make today great by sharing this awesome couple with you.
I met up with Emily and Pat in Boston in November on a day that was so cold, I could not believe this girl was wearing a dress. I thought she would blow away. But she rocked it and they were fabulous. I didn’t even have to give them much direction, they just naturally fell into each other in a way that looked so warm and cozy. And the sun? Well, the sun and I were BFFs for a day. I wanted to throw a lasso around it and pull it close and give it a hug and a kiss.
I am just adoring these two, I am so glad to have the opportunity to work with them. I know I always say this, but this is one of my favorite shoots to date. I am trying to shoot more simply, to not be afraid of pictures that aren’t super bright and overexposed. When people ask me what my style is, I say that I like to take pictures that 10, 25, 50 years from now, you will be proud to show off and display in your home. Timeless. Effortless. Simply beautiful.
So with that in mind, I am excited to share Emily and Pat with you. This session took us across Copley Square in Boston, and through the Public Garden, and I eagerly await their September wedding! Cheers!
Meg and Matt: Autumn in Boston Engagement Photography
Sometimes, there just aren’t words to capture the feeling of a shoot. Sometimes, things are just as they should be, and simply take your breath away. I feel like I just can’t share some of the special moments that happened during Meg and Matt’s shoot. They were too personal, too sweet, and too moving. I will tell you that I think Meg and I are soulmates. She is one of a kind. She and I, from the moment we met, just clicked. I know that we’ll not only have an amazing working relationship, but hopefully a great friendship for years to come.
Meg and Matt’s story is simple, yet sweet. They met working at a grocery store when Meg was working in the Berkshires one summer. Matt is very quiet. Meg is not. If anyone can bring him to life and out of his sweet shell, it’s her. He lights up when she smiles at him. They are in many ways opposites, but truly bring out the very best in each other. As I call Sean the gluten free macaroni to my cheese, Meg and Matt are likewise.I simply adore them.
I met up with Meg and Matt on an overcast afternoon in Boston, and we had great plans to conquer the city. I thought Meg was a little crazy when she sent me the list of all the places she wanted to do pictures. I told her, “Of course, no problem! We’ll get it all in!” and on the inside was saying “Meg, you are crazy. I love you, but you’re crazy.” Meg convinced me that we could do it though, and thank goodness she proved me wrong because our time together couldn’t have been more perfect. You will see a lot of recognizable places here, so I hope you enjoy the very sweet, moderately giggly, whole lotta beautiful pictures I have to share with you. Without futher ado…
