Erin and Mike :: Cohasset Wedding Photography
Erin and Mike were married on a gorgeous sunny fall day in November, and I loved every minute of photographing it. It was a transitional day for me – first day back to photography since having Lily, and the first time I left her for more than an hour or so. It felt like the first day of school! I missed her, of course, but it felt great to get back to photographing lovely, happy faces. It definitely makes a difference in how I feel leaving her when I am doing something I love. It’s easier. My time is being spent doing something worth being away from her for a time. I want to show her that if you work hard, you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to.
Back to my Erin and Mike. I love these two. Mike’s parents and my parents have been good friends since well before I was born, so it was very special getting to spend the day with all of them celebrating Erin and Mike’s love. They are so sweet together and I know they will have an incredibly happy life. And Erin was just, well, stunning. And I am considering renting out her aunt’s house for any and all photoshoots ever. I mean, come on…
Meg and Matt :: Connecticut Wedding Photography
My dear friends…it’s been a while. I have been enjoying my maternity leave with our sweet little bean, soaking up all the snuggles and kisses I can while she is still tiny and wanting to be held all the time. I love being a mommy, and honestly, have really enjoyed this break. I spend my days in sweatpants and usually don’t shower until the day is half over. I have been watching entirely too much television and letting the laundry and dishes pile up. It’s wonderful. With that said, I am now easing back into the swing of things here. I am still taking it easy, though, and enjoying family time, since I’ll be back to work in January. I am looking forward to spending time up in Massachusetts with our families, and celebrating Lily’s first Christmas.
I have some catching up to do here, and I have some awesome faces to share with you. First up is Meg and Matt’s beautiful and emotional wedding. You may remember their engagement session from last October, where I found a soul mate in Meg. Their wedding day was one for the books. I will partially blame it on the pregnancy hormones at the time, but I found myself in tears more than a handful of times throughout the day. What I love about Meg is that she wears her heart on her sleeve. She doesn’t hold back her emotions, and that’s what makes her so warm, kind, loving, and beautiful. Seeing their happiness on their wedding day not only made me grateful to be able to capture it, but grateful to witness so much love between them, their families and friends. I am also embarrassed to admit that I am about 6 months late posting this (I said I have a lot of catching up to do here), but I know Meg won’t mind. She is awesome like that.
We started the day at Meg’s aunt and uncle’s house in Wallingford, CT. There were many, many special details and moments throughout the day that you will see here, which all focused in on love. Love for each other, for their parents, the love their friends have for them. There’s really no way for me to accurately describe it all except to just show you.
At this point in the ceremony, Meg and Matt turn towards the altar to light their unity candle, and Meg’s best friend surprised her with a song, One Hand One Heart from West Side Story…
Michelle & Tom: Barker Tavern Wedding, Scituate
I love a gorgeous South Shore wedding. I might be biased, but there’s a natural, New England charm and beauty that comes with getting married on the coast of Massachusetts. Michelle and Tom were recently married at St. Anthony’s in Cohasset, and had their reception at the Barker Tavern.
I thanked my lucky stars for the sunshine, for getting to work with this wonderful couple and their families, and to return to the Barker Tavern. Michelle was a classic beauty of a bride. It’s always fun for me to get to see my brides transform from having hair and makeup done in sweatpants to these knock out brides.
We started the day at the Inn at Scituate Harbor. I helped Michelle get dressed so she could have a little reveal for her bridesmaids and parents.
