Lauren and Jeffrey's Post-Wedding Session at Emmanuel College, Boston MA

I drove onto campus on the last Saturday of October, full of nostalgia and curiosity. It had been two years since I had been back to Emmanuel, my alma mater, for a friend’s wedding. A lot of things have changed since I graduated, giving me mixed feelings. One thing that remains the same is a place I hold very close to my heart – the chapel. Many a Sunday night were spent singing at the 8 o’clock Mass, and many significant college events and happy memories reside there. When Lauren contacted me to do a post-wedding shoot, and that she wanted pictures in the chapel, I felt a familiar tug. Lauren and I were a year apart, sang together in the chapel choir, acted together in the theater guild, and it was a very special place for us both.

The last time I had been in the chapel was with Lauren, singing side by side at a friend’s wedding, and two months later, she and I both got engaged Thanksgiving weekend. It was announced shortly after that the college chapel would be closed as the administrative building underwent renovations. We both planned our weddings for home parishes, both feeling a bit sad that it wouldn’t be at Emmanuel.

So we came back. And we had fun, and got some really gorgeous shots. Married on 10-10-10, Lauren and Jeffrey let their newly-wedded bliss fly and gave me a lot to work with. They were so easy to work with, because they are so natural together. They aren’t afraid to show their affection, and I LOVE that. A word to married people – I love seeing your love.

We also took a stroll to Bertucci’s and had some fun in the kitchen throwing flour around, because sometimes these sessions get a little messy. Enjoy!
