Erin and Mike :: Cohasset Engagement Photography
Baby, it’s cold outside! I have one week left to hang out with my babe and get all the snuggles I can before she is off to daycare and I cry my eyes out return to the day job. I thought Erin and Mike’s engagement pictures would be nice to look at this week since they were taken at Sandy Beach in Cohasset back in July when it was warm and I got to shoot barefoot with my toes in the sand. These two were married in November, and I will be sharing their wedding soon. For now, put your feet up, pour a warm cup of tea, and imagine you’re there with them on this gorgeous New England beach. It was an early Sunday morning, the sun giving off that special glow that only a summer’s morning can bring, with the sweet, peaceful sound of waves crashing behind us.
Emily and Pat: Boston Engagement Photography
Happy new year! I love this time of year. It’s almost my anniversary, it’s a great season to get engaged (I know of at least 4 engagements in the past week on my Facebook feed alone – Call me! Just kidding… But really.), and it’s a great time to start fresh, revisit goals, come up with new goals, and tackle it all with a positive attitude. I think I am doing well in that department. My mantra for the year is “No Bad Days”. Every day is a blessing and opportunity to do something great. So I am going to make today great by sharing this awesome couple with you.
I met up with Emily and Pat in Boston in November on a day that was so cold, I could not believe this girl was wearing a dress. I thought she would blow away. But she rocked it and they were fabulous. I didn’t even have to give them much direction, they just naturally fell into each other in a way that looked so warm and cozy. And the sun? Well, the sun and I were BFFs for a day. I wanted to throw a lasso around it and pull it close and give it a hug and a kiss.
I am just adoring these two, I am so glad to have the opportunity to work with them. I know I always say this, but this is one of my favorite shoots to date. I am trying to shoot more simply, to not be afraid of pictures that aren’t super bright and overexposed. When people ask me what my style is, I say that I like to take pictures that 10, 25, 50 years from now, you will be proud to show off and display in your home. Timeless. Effortless. Simply beautiful.
So with that in mind, I am excited to share Emily and Pat with you. This session took us across Copley Square in Boston, and through the Public Garden, and I eagerly await their September wedding! Cheers!
Reflection: 2011
I am having a little trouble grasping the fact that it is New Year’s Eve, and tomorrow is the first day of 2012. This year absolutely flew. It was full, and it was fabulous. I don’t know how else to describe it. It was full of weddings, engagements, laughter, challenges, cake, snow, and a whole lot of happiness. I loved it to pieces. I simply can’t pick a favorite moment because each moment helped me grow, helped me learn, pushed me harder and made me even more delighted and determined to keep moving onward and upward.
I have the best clients in the world. They are simply amazing. I have witnessed more kindness, cuteness, and uninhibited love in the past year than I can really grasp. One of the great perks of this job is being around happy people. So I am going to filter some of that happy back out into the universe with some of my favorite pictures from this past year. There’s lots of kissing, hugging, squishing, snuggling, giggling and dancing, so hold on to your hats, and I hope you have had a joyous 2011! Cheers!
